Betsy Ann Riverboat Painting

Large, colorful and folky painting of the Betsy Ann. The steamboat carried U.S. mail along the Mississippi after the turn of the century and in the 1920's was sold and operated out of Pittsburgh. It ultimately sank in 1952.

Signed "E. Smith" in lower right.

Acrylic on illustration board. Mounted in a heavy oak frame.

Measures 39- 3/4" wide x 29- 3/4" tall (frame); 33" wide x 23- 1/4" tall (sight)

Found in eastern Ohio.

Very good vintage condition with only minor blemishes. A few small specs of loss at bottom center. The frame has a few scratches on its face as well as some staining along the outside edges.

New hardware added to the back for easy hanging.
